Licence renewal application support on-going

After over 10 years of supporting members prepare for their licence renewal, a lockdown due to COVID-19 did not stop ARCA continuing to support members.

Applications for asbestos licence renewal still had to be prepared and/or electronically submitted to the HSE during lockdown, and ARCA was there to assist members by holding remote meetings, either by using Teams or Zoom.

ARCA plans to continue this remote approach where it is deemed an effective means of assistance. Some face-to-face meetings have recently taken place, as this approach was considered the most appropriate and COVID-19 safe working arrangements were in place.

Two members recently supported in their application preparation had this to say:

Solent Environmental are pleased to announce that we received a new 3-year HSE Asbestos Removal Licence this May. This is a great achievement by the team and is a result of all the hard work and effort put in by everyone at Solent over the previous two years.

We found Geoff’s support in the asbestos licence renewal process to be very beneficial.  It allowed us to seek feedback on the response that we’d prepared to date and gave us an insight into what the HSE are looking for.
