About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager to oversee and drive the successful delivery of Asbestos Remedial projects across the UK. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing day-to-day operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency and quality of work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations and successful running of asbestos remedial projects.
  • Managing staff workloads and allocating projects in an effective manner
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and Health & Safety at Work Act.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, quality, and profitability.
  • Manage and coordinate a team of site supervisors, asbestos removal operatives, agency workers and administrative staff.
  • Conduct site inspections and audits to uphold safety and compliance standards.
  • Being a key point of contact for clients, to answer technical queries and handle any complaints or logistical issues.
  • Prepare and review Risk and Method Statements (RAMS), ASB5s and supporting project documentation.
  • Identifying areas for training and completing competency checks on staff
  • Supporting the on-boarding of new members of staff
  • Monitor and control project costs, procurement, and resource allocation.
  • Provide training, support, and mentorship to ensure staff development and competency.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with key clients and stakeholders.

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience in a managerial role within the asbestos removal industry.
  • Strong industry knowledge and technical understanding.
  • Strong knowledge of UK asbestos regulations and health & safety compliance.
  • SSSMS, NEBOSH or IOSH certification is desirable.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects and teams (office and site) simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organisation and leadership skills.
  • Strong problem-solving ability with a proactive and professional approach.
  • Proficient in project management software and MS Office Suite.
  • A valid UK driving licence.
